Background and Inspiration

I am a big film entthusist that started my path into filmmaking at a yound age , constanly scibbing ideas and storyboards down as a child.Through school (due to no media subjects) i studied Art and continued this through to Cornwall College where i studied Art and Design and Graphic Design.

Here in college i was finally able to use video camera's and editing software and therefore soon after i produced my first short film with a few close friends, an Post Apocolyptic Horror Film Titled " Chimera " (2006).This opened my eyes to a new path, the path i had dreamed about as a child to become a Filmmaker.

After leaving college i attended Plymouth College Of Art to study Film Arts. Here i continued my film making , building up my experience and portfolio. At PCAD i produced a number of shorts working with many differnt filming equipment and working in numerous roles of production and a number of differnt mediums and genres from Thriller, Drama, Horror, Advertisments and even a few animations.I am currently at PCAD still finish my BA HONs in Film Arts.

Inspiration/Interests

In art i get alot of inspiration from dark, maccarb imagery.I few artist i personally like are Edgar Munch , Francis Bacon , Otto Dixx and even the art work of film directors Rob Zombie and Clive Barker.

When it comes to film inspiration it varys but i am most interested in Exploitation films ,B-movies and Horror films through out history.Big area's of influence for me are 70's low budget Exploitation films like Ilsa Shewolf Of The SS (1974) , Blood Feast (1963) and Faster Pussycat Kill !! Kill !! (1965).Other area's of inspiration is early German Expressionists films like Nosferatu (1922) and The Cabinet Of Dr Caligari (1920) for their use of deep heavy shadows something that was used in early Hollywood Horror films and Film noir both area's i am interested in.

An another area of interest that is highly influencal to me is history from myths and ledgends , old religions and espically World War 2 and the Nazi regime
